Hey Brummie, I was 15 when I started to learn. I got my liscence on my sixteenth birthday. Two weeks later I was permitted to drive for my first time to school. My parents told me to go to school alone and come home alone. No passengers! Going wasn't a problem, no one knew I was going to drive that day. A couple friends asked for a ride home. I dropped two of my friends off and only had one more to go and I was home free..my parents will never know...well...I got one block from dropping my last friend off and some tapes we were playing fell on the floor. both of us started to lean forward and pick them up. When I lifted up, all I saw was two big red flashing lights from a dead stop school bus...OOPS..Thank God I was following it up hill for at least a couple minutes so I was going slow. I still crashed into it. There were about fifteen or more 10 year old girls on the bus. They all stuck there heads out the window shouting how stupid I was. Bus...Nothing. My mothers car...Crunched left fender. My father made me pay for and install a new fender and headlight. Moral of the story....Don't worry Brummie...it sounds like you won't have to deal with too many school buses where you live. You'll do fine!

weekend and especially pay attention to the announcements.
also watch the end of.
"60 minutes" as there may be a special announcement there also.. .
Thanks Blondie...This is GREAT news!!!...Tink and I will try and tape it.
Undisfellowshipped..Thanks for posting that WT article. If the dubs can't see how the WTS is TELLING them what to believe instead of being honest and make some kind of effort to encourage their members that something will done to deal with molestors and to protect the children in the congregation, then I just don't know what to say except WAKE UP for God's sake!!

the horrible murder and mutilation of laci peterson and the death of her baby boy, connor, has been in the news a very long time.
now the bodies have been found and identified--and finally, scott has been arrested and charged.. there is just something very strange about all of this, and i was hoping someone might have some information.
from scott's expressions and behavior, it appears as if he is guilty, but has no remorse.
Scott's parents were interviewed recently and they had parts of the interview on the news. His mother was hysterical, and was claiming that her son was innocent and that the investigation was faulted. The father also made a similar statement later on. Laci's parents or family are supposed to issue a statement of their own around 3:00 EST today. This incident reminds me of the man who shot his pregnant wife after they attended a Lemase (spelling?) class and shot himself to make it look like they were being robbed. It turned out that he was after insurance to cover debts. This happened in the Boston area over 10 years ago. I just can't phathom how a person resorts to murder reguardless of how bad things are. I have no explaination for it, it just sickens me.

aside from being interrogated at your jc meeting, what was your worst experience while being a jw?.
i have two bad experiences, both similar, in that they dealt with the unjust no blood rule.
i was present while a very close friend of mine died from not taking blood while he was suffering from a burst pancreas.

I have two bad experiences, both similar, in that they dealt with the unjust No blood rule. I was present while a very close friend of mine died from not taking blood while he was suffering from a burst Pancreas. I was not aware of how serious it was at the time, and did not find out that the doctors were trying to get him to take a blood transfusion, until after he died and I spoke with some of his doctors.
The second one concerned a sister who gave birth to a child late in life. She hemorraged after giving birth and just layed there bleeding to death for two days. Her husband was an elder and our BS conductor, so we became good friends. Both of these experinces have given me alot of emotional pain. Now that I am out and know of the lies and deception the WTC blinds people with, I think back alot on those two incidents. I feel bad now that I know it was such a waste. I even remember feeling confused at the time that that sister was dieing, and that I wanted something to be done to help her.
I wanted to know what some of you experienced, and what you've done to cope with what occured and how you felt afterwards. If this is too painful a subject I will understand. I'm in one of those times that those past experiences are bothering me.

i think that there are one or two in the congregation that read this board.
or some inactive ones.
i even have a suspiscion that an elder or two might browse this board every once in a while, too.
Yes. Tink thinks her two sisters do and her Brother-in law. They have made comments from time to time that give her a strong feeling they have been reading our posts. I have a strong suspicion that an Elder who works where I do does, or is getting info from some of his "cronies" who do. He always puts on an obvious look of disgust when we pass each other. I give him back a big smile! I wonder alot about my old home in CT, and if some are reading my posts. I do not personnaly care if they are or not, maybe if they are they'll take heed in what they can learn about the cult they are in.

i figured it would be a good idea to post a topic to fill you all in on what's been going on with tink and i, befor i just returned with a single post to a topic.
we're both doing great.
we have had a lot going on and have been very busy.. our computer was hit by a virus...again...for the second time within the last year.
Thank You Brummie!
Thanks Simon, it's good to know you have friends who will look after you in case you get a case of utter stupidity!!...LOL...Noooooo Way there is a chance in hell you'll find Tink and I at the KH....LOL.
When we first moved to this county, the neighbors would stop and ask us to go to church. Tink would tell them, " No, thank you for the invitation, but we're Pagans"...they gave her quite an alarming look..but since then we have gotten along well with our neighbors and have gone with them to "socials" and even attended a christmas program which was rather nice. We're not interested in religion at all, but do find our neighbors very nice people and do not begrudge anyones personal beliefs. To each his own....Ya know what I mean..!

the founder of tbe watchtower has been said to be a good christian man, "the faithful steward", a child molester, "the laodecian messenger", a fraud, and a number of other things.
when you became a witness, charles taze russell might have been downplayed or exalted, depending upon who was talking about him.
what is your opinion of the society's first president??
Hi Minimus! You asked if the Bible Students still believe he was the Faithful Servant. I believe they do. My mother, who now lives in Tn. is still faithful to her beliefs as a Bible Student and has told me on many occasions that CTR is the faithful servant. They still adhere to his early teachings, and publish quite a bit of literature. The Millenial Dawn (equivalent to the WT) is still printed and used. They have a daily text also called Daily Manna. They have a web site too, I found it by typing in International Bible Students Association. I don't have the link anymore or I would have provided it. In my opinion, he was powerful and very influencing on people, because he still has a faithful following. My mother is the only member who lives in TN and has to cellibrate the memorial alone. They calculate the date differently than the witnesses and it is usually not the same night as the JW's. She has stayed with it since she was a teenager, she is now 76 years old. She recieves taped talks from her "Brethren" back North, and still mails out fliers with topics of the coming New System under Christ to people she finds in the obituary section of the local TN newspaper. She always told me that was her service duty. Pretty wild, Huh?
